Just to be able to sign the alphabet is such a useful skill I am amazed it is not required in schools.

This was a great story that got me thinking that just because someone has the ability to hear and speak does not automatically mean that person has the ability to communicate.

Patience and understanding should be extended to all - airlines tend to understand this...

I regret not learning myself as I have several friends who are deaf. Thankfully they could lip read.

I think Masodo is right, it should be a language choice in schools.
